Learning paths and completion checklist

The core is four courses with six modules each. Begin with Course 2 if you need accounting reconstruction before valuation; otherwise follow Courses 1–4. The practical track applies those skills to one new target after the core models are complete.

Choose your route

Starting point Suggested sequence Evidence of readiness
Accounting familiarity, no acquisition experience 1 → 2 → 3 → 4 → practical pilot Explain profit versus cash and EV versus seller proceeds
Accounting foundation needs work 2 Modules 1–3 → 1 → finish 2 → 3 → 4 Reconcile a cash-to-accrual example and owner replacement
Experienced financial analyst Attempt independent packets, then review failed topics Live model construction and defense, not recognition of answer keys
Instructor or reviewer Review source inputs, solutions, validation limits and rubrics Distinguish educational assumptions from verified requirements

Work cycle for each module

  • Read objectives and prerequisites; identify units and the transaction perimeter.
  • Rebuild the teaching example from its inputs and explain each sign.
  • Complete the separate conceptual, numerical, spreadsheet and judgment assignment.
  • Change an assumption, predict the result, and inspect the recalculated checks.
  • Compare against the separate instructor key only after submitting your attempt.
  • Record errors and what evidence would change the acquisition conclusion.

Course completion

Course Student packet Model Instructor reference
1 Harbor capstone Learner Solution
2 Vanguard capstone Learner Solution
3 Precision capstone Learner Solution
4 Apex capstone Learner Solution

Each pass requires at least 80/100 and correction of designated critical failures. A supported decline is eligible for full credit. Complete all four models, a documented downside, an evidence register and a defended recommendation. Then attempt Northstar without importing the core capstone's assumptions blindly.

What completion does and does not establish

The program develops self-study modeling competence. It does not confer a CFI credential, lending authority, legal qualification or certification that an actual transaction is compliant. Instructor pages are separate but publicly accessible on this static site; there is no assessment authentication or answer-key access control.

The Excel files have actual formula-engine evaluation and independent Python comparisons. Native Excel/LibreOffice recalculation and GUI review remain unverified. The policy snapshot is dated and must be refreshed before actual reliance. Read sources and the public-topic crosswalk alongside the cases.
